February guest teacher: Alec Rouben

We're excited to introduce to you our February guest teacher, ALEC VISHAL ROUBEN. Alec will be leading a workshop style class next Saturday at Reykjavík Yoga!

Alec Vishal Rouben is inspired to have stumbled upon a path of service! Alec Vishal is from Colorado, USA & is currently living in the UK in pursuit of a Masters degree in Traditions of Yoga & Meditation. Having his first yoga practice through the Vinyasa system, breath became the key to finding inner contentment in life, staged through mindfulness. His personal practice reveals strong gems on how to move towards mastery in his unique offering of yoga to the world, influencing fellow brothers and sisters, while receiving wisdom from his Community.

With a strong relationship around Pranayama, Meditation, Stories of the Hindu Mythics in which Yoga is rooted in, you can expect to learn a great deal of understanding around Yogaasanas, as well as learn about YOUrself! Alec is here to share with you, LOVELiFEyoga® at Reykjavikyoga!

SATURDAY 10th of February 11am:

Please Join Guest teach Alec for a 90 navigation through some of your favorite and foundational yoga postures. This is a Hatha approach to at least a dozen of the most important postures you will experience in a normal vinyasa class. Create Stability In Stillness so there is integrity in your movement! You can expect to learn about your own personal patterns in the body, your obstacles, limitations, and limitlessness. With Alec's over half a dozen training and extreme Eye of Attention that his teacher, Eddie Modestini installed into him, Alec will offer a unique approach to practicing yoga and living yoga out in the real life. This Workshop will be different and is guaranteed to inspire you to practice daily, on the mat and off the mat. We will learn different techniques to postures you may know, integrate props into every posture, learn about meditation, some breathing techniques, and enjoy the company of one another. This is a workshop-style class, so your questions are encouraged!

Beautiful upcoming Yoga workshop in the Dance Atelier

Dear friends, Reykjavík Yoga guest teacher of November, Hrönn Kold, is teaching a very exciting  2 1/2 hour  workshop next Wednesday (the 9th of November) in the Reykjavík Yoga studio, at the Dance Atelier, Skúlagata 30, starting at 6pm. Here is the info:

Christmas is upon us and your calendar is probably already filled with appointments with yourself and others - christmas lunch, christmas terminations, christmas shopping, christmas baking, christmas this and that. It's that time of year when we become so focused on DOING that we completely forget to BE and enjoy what already is - the beautiful lights, the seductive scents, being together with our loved ones and life's basic goodness.

This 2,5 hour yoga workshop invites you to tune your sensitivity towards your inner Self so that you'll become able to enjoy all the wonderful experiences that come with the Christmas season and at the same time be able to give the best of yourself to your dear ones.

The workshop begins with a warming creative vinyasa flow that brings us to love-enhancing backbends and deep releasing hip-openers. Expect practical nuggets from the Tantrik philosophy, some partnerwork, sweat and to have a great time.

The workshop concludes with seated loving-kindness meditation and deep relaxation.

All levels are welcome.

Price: 4500 ISK

Sign-up: info@yogaplace.dk

Payment information provided upon sign-up.

Hrönn teaches regular classes in her own studio YogaPlace (www.yogaplace.dk ) and at one of Copehagens most popular yogastudios, Hamsa Yoga (www.hamsayoga.dk ). Do what you love...

I'm blessed to be able to work with two things I love: Yoga and graphic design/illustrations. Sometimes I even manage to combine those two. Neither feels like work, to the point I sometimes even forget to charge :-D

I just launched a new website after a looong time of having a non-updated website online, you know the saying: "You can tell a cobbler by his shoes"... Kind of like that. So I'm very happy that I finally managed to put it together! feel free to check it out: baddydesign.com

If we follow our passions we can't do no wrong.

It IS all about the journey...

I'm very much looking forward for the second round of Spiral Energy class today. We will be wrapping, twisting a turning, and remembering there is no final destination, no final pose. It is all about the journey, the transitions, the in-betweens. It is all about this moment. Stay present.

See you on the mat today at 5.30!

Spiral energy

Happy new week/new beginning everyone! I'm very excited about these two upcoming yoga weeks since we're going to be working with spiral energy. The human body is fundamentally built in spirals and our bodies move very comfortably with spiral motion.

Continuous flow of energy is what we're aiming at!

Join the spiral flow with Reykjavík Yoga at 5.30 at the Dance Atelier, Skúlagata 30, 2nd floor. See you on the mat!

Namaste.

Spirals are found everywhere in the nature, and in the human body.
