Yoga for Christmas

I'm excited to tell you that Reykjavík Yoga will be open during the holidays so you can come and centre yourself in the midst of Christmas craziness :-) On the 24th of December we will have our own Christmas Special including meditation, Vinyasa flow and some lovely surprises. I promise you lots of candles! On Saturday the 31st at 11am I invite you to join me in a "New Beginnings" ritual/yoga practice, letting go of the old and embracing the new. We will do some writing, so bring your notebooks! Please note that those two classes will be about half an hour longer then usual.

Happy yoga days!

Love to all

Beautiful upcoming Yoga workshop in the Dance Atelier

Dear friends, Reykjavík Yoga guest teacher of November, Hrönn Kold, is teaching a very exciting  2 1/2 hour  workshop next Wednesday (the 9th of November) in the Reykjavík Yoga studio, at the Dance Atelier, Skúlagata 30, starting at 6pm. Here is the info:

Christmas is upon us and your calendar is probably already filled with appointments with yourself and others - christmas lunch, christmas terminations, christmas shopping, christmas baking, christmas this and that. It's that time of year when we become so focused on DOING that we completely forget to BE and enjoy what already is - the beautiful lights, the seductive scents, being together with our loved ones and life's basic goodness.

This 2,5 hour yoga workshop invites you to tune your sensitivity towards your inner Self so that you'll become able to enjoy all the wonderful experiences that come with the Christmas season and at the same time be able to give the best of yourself to your dear ones.

The workshop begins with a warming creative vinyasa flow that brings us to love-enhancing backbends and deep releasing hip-openers. Expect practical nuggets from the Tantrik philosophy, some partnerwork, sweat and to have a great time.

The workshop concludes with seated loving-kindness meditation and deep relaxation.

All levels are welcome.

Price: 4500 ISK

Sign-up: info@yogaplace.dk

Payment information provided upon sign-up.

Hrönn teaches regular classes in her own studio YogaPlace (www.yogaplace.dk ) and at one of Copehagens most popular yogastudios, Hamsa Yoga (www.hamsayoga.dk ). She also offers workshops, retreats in Iceland and Spain, meditation courses and teacher trainings. Furthermore you can practice with Hrönn through the online yoga streaming site YogaStream (www.yogastream.dk )

Inspirational Julie Martin

I just spent 5 days in Stockholm in Julie Martin's workshop on Fascia, anatomy, meditation, freedom in movement and much, much more. Julie is a teacher who is constantly asking questions about how our yoga practice is serving us and how we can use it in our daily lives. She was the one that opened my eyes to how I could practice with more awareness and be in my own body. I'm really looking forward to share with you all what I've learned.

Namaste to all

Breathing time...

"You are always just one, deep breath away from this moment" - Waylon Lewis.

It can be incredibly healing to be able to connect to your breath. Today at Reykjavik Yoga, we will practice to become aware of the breath and to start to breathe more deeply. Join this sweet heart-opener Vinyasa-flow and feel a deep connection with your own body.

See you on the mat at 5.30!

It IS all about the journey...

I'm very much looking forward for the second round of Spiral Energy class today. We will be wrapping, twisting a turning, and remembering there is no final destination, no final pose. It is all about the journey, the transitions, the in-betweens. It is all about this moment. Stay present.

See you on the mat today at 5.30!

Spiral energy

Happy new week/new beginning everyone! I'm very excited about these two upcoming yoga weeks since we're going to be working with spiral energy. The human body is fundamentally built in spirals and our bodies move very comfortably with spiral motion.

Continuous flow of energy is what we're aiming at!

Join the spiral flow with Reykjavík Yoga at 5.30 at the Dance Atelier, Skúlagata 30, 2nd floor. See you on the mat!

Namaste.

Spirals are found everywhere in the nature, and in the human body.
